Minister of Energy A. Satkaliyev visited EGRES-1

As part of the working trip, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev visited the Ekibastuz GRES-1 named after Bulat Nurzhanov and got acquainted with the preparation of the power plant for the Autumn – winter period. During the visit, Almasadam Satkaliyev also inspected and familiarized himself with the current progress of the restoration and repair works of power unit No. 1.

Asan Naurzgaliyev, General Director of Ekibastuz GRES–1 named after Bulat Nurzhanov, reported to the Minister on the preparations for the Autumn - winter period, coal reserves and the implementation of investment projects.

The station is implementing the project "Restoration of power unit No. 1", which will increase the available capacity of the station to the design 4,000 MW. The aim of the project is to meet the demand and reduce the shortage of electricity in the Republic of Kazakhstan. It will also ensure compliance with environmental regulations by installing modern electric filters. The project is expected to be completed in 2024.
