As part of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov's working trip to Ekibastuz, Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov conducted an inspection of energy facilities that play a strategic role in providing the country with heat and electricity.

At Ekibastuzskaya GRES-1, the minister got acquainted with the current state of the plant and the results of modernization. The launch of the restored power unit No. 1 with a capacity of 540 MW, commissioned in December 2024, was particularly noted.
