Explanatory note to the report on industrial environmental control

LLP "Ekibastuz GRES-1 named after Bulat Nurzhanov" for 2022

LLP "Ekibastuz GRES-1 named after Bulat Nurzhanov" is an operating power plant with a design installed electrical capacity of 4000 MW (8 power units of 500 MW each, power unit No. 1 under restoration work). The plant's installed capacity is 3,500 MW. The operating mode of the power plant is round-the-clock, year-round.

The main fuel for power boilers is high-ash coal from the Ekibastuz deposits, and fuel oil is fuel oil grade M-100. Flue gas emissions from the power boilers of the station are emitted through two pipes No. 1 and No. 2, 300 m and 330 m high, with a mouth diameter of 13.26 m and 11.9 m, respectively.

To reduce the content of suspended solids in flue gases emitted into the atmosphere, power units st. No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 6 are equipped with electric filters of the "LodgeCottrel" type, at the power unit st. No. 2, No. 7, No. 8 CJSC AlstomPowerStavan.

Suppression (reduction of concentration) of nitrogen oxides at the plant is carried out by optimizing the process of fuel combustion in boilers (regime-technological methods). Flue gases are not cleaned from gaseous substances at the station.

In 2022, 23,047,995.283 thousand kWh of electrical energy was generated.

Atmospheric air. Air emissions are controlled in accordance with the Industrial Environmental Control Program.

Control over the composition of atmospheric air at the border of the sanitary protection zone of the station is carried out with the involvement of an accredited sanitary and preventive laboratory of Promservice-Otan LLP.

In the selected samples, the content of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and carbon oxide is determined.

According to the results of instrumental measurements for the reporting period, the concentrations of controlled substances were within the limits of standard values.

The ash collecting plant is tested annually at each working unit of the station. Based on the test results, a technical report is drawn up.

Control over pollutant standards is carried out in accordance with the draft Standards for Maximum Permissible Emissions of Pollutants into the Atmosphere for 2022.

Based on the permit for emissions into the environment No. KZ10VCZ00220983 dated December 19, 2018, Ekibastuz GRES-1 named after Bulat Nurzhanov LLP in 2022 is allowed to emit pollutant emissions in volumes not exceeding 288,987.805 tons.

Emissions of pollutants for 12 months of 2022 amounted to (according to permit No. KZ10VCZ00220983 dated 12/19/2018):

Permission for emissions into the environment, number and date of issue

Issue limits, thousand tons/year

Actual emissions for the reporting period thousand tons/year

Emissions of pollutants during restoration work en. block No. 1 for 2022 amounted to 12.273 tons (permit for emissions into the environment No. KZ24VCZ00752679 issue date 12/25/2020).

Based on the results of instrumental and calculation methods for determining pollutant emissions, no excesses of MPC and MPV have been identified.

Monitoring of water resources. The source of water supply is the K. Satpayev canal, on which there are two water intakes: one water outlet is for replenishing the cooling reservoir, the second water outlet is for household needs and the preparation of chemically desalinated and chemically purified water for power and hot water boilers.

Water metering through the head of the HVO is carried out using water meters installed at the inlet of the WLU, HVO-I and II stages of the starting boiler house and the drinking water preparation plant "Struya". A daily accounting of the amount of water consumption and water disposal is carried out, no deviations from the specific norms were observed.

Special water use at the station is carried out on the basis of permit No. KZ86VTE00079542 Series Ertis.

For the station, a circulating cooling system with a bulk reservoir-cooler Zhengeldy was adopted.

Sampling and analysis of surface water samples (reservoir, canal, circulating water, GZU) is carried out monthly with the involvement of an accredited sanitary and preventive laboratory of Promservice-Otan LLP.

Production waste monitoring. The main type of production waste at the enterprise (in the process of coal combustion in boiler furnaces) is ash and slag waste, which is sent by hydrotransport to the ash dump in accordance with the design documents.

The ash dump, located in the drainless basin of the previously dried bitter-salty lake Karasor, is located 22 km to the east of the station site.

The formation and disposal of ash and slag waste and production waste is accounted for on a monthly basis.

Based on the permit for emissions into the environment No. KZ10VCZ00220983 dated December 19, 2018, Bulat Nurzhanov Ekibastuz GRES-1 LLP for 2022 is allowed to dispose of production and consumption waste in volumes not exceeding 5,778,138.061 tons.

Soil monitoring.

Selection and analysis of soil samples at the border of the sanitary protection zone of the power plant, ash dump and waste storage (landfill) were carried out in the III quarter. 2022 on the basis of an agreement with SPL Promservice-Otan LLP.

Sampling and analysis were carried out at 12 stationary points in accordance with the current GOSTs.

• Boundary of the SPZ of the ash dump - 5 points;

• Boundary of the SPZ of the storage tank (landfill) of waste - 4 points;

• Boundary of the SPZ power plant – 3 points;
