Absence of Radioactive Waste on the Territory of the Plant

LLP Ekibastuz GRES-1 named after Bulat Nurzhanov carries out its activities exclusively in the field of electricity generation through the combustion of coal. The technological processes of the plant do not involve the use of ionizing radiation sources, radioactive substances, or materials.

There are no radioactive waste, nor facilities intended for their storage or disposal, on the territory of the enterprise. The production activities of GRES-1 do not include the handling of radioactive materials, which is confirmed by the valid license and established environmental requirements.

All waste generated during the operation of the plant (ash, slag, construction, and household waste) belongs to the types regulated in accordance with the environmental legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and does not have a radioactive nature.

Thus, Ekibastuz GRES-1 is a thermal power enterprise whose activities completely exclude the risk of generation or handling of radioactive waste.
