On January 27-28, 2025, Astana hosted the republican contest "The Best Flaw Detector of the Republic of Kazakhstan", which brought together more than 300 specialists from all over the country. 64 participants made it to the finals, who demonstrated their knowledge and skills in the field of non-destructive testing.

Sergey Andreevich Nikolaichuk, a leading engineer at the central laboratory of Metals and Welding, worthily represented Ekibastuz GRES-1 at this prestigious competition. He passed all the stages of the competition, which included:

- Theoretical block – testing knowledge of standards and diagnostic methods;

- The practical stage is working with modern equipment and analyzing identified defects.
